Back from Croptoberfest/November Overnight!
Phew! The November Croptoberfest/Overnight just wrapped up and I am starting to come up for air! What a great weekend it was and it makes me sit back and appreciate all the hard work that goes into it – not just on my end but yours too! What a great opportunity it presents for my customers to share ideas with others over the weekend and I get reinvested into this business all over again! You’ve heard me say this so many times so I thought for a change I’d have a customer of mine tell you what she thought of the weekend!
FROM MY CUSTOMER TRICIA:
“I usually go only to the March overnight weekend as November is generally a crazy month for me but this year I was able to go all day on Saturday. I was hesitant on whether a day trip to Seekonk would be worth it and it was so worth it! Not only did I get a lot of my own scrapbooking accomplished, I met some great people, got some fantastic ideas, ate delicious food and ended the day with a renewed vigor of working on my albums! One of the products being showcased this year is the Border Maker System. If you CLICK HERE you can check this out for yourself. It is amazing! I was given this as a gift last year for Christmas – I asked for it and had no idea really what it was but I wanted it! Since then I have played with it here and there and grab every new cartridge when it comes out and the ideas that were shared last Saturday makes this a MUST-HAVE for every paper crafter! Add it to your holiday wish list because you need to get it now and grab all the cartridges because they have already discontinued some! The other reason I love these events is for the Cricut machines! I have owned a Cricut machine for a number of years now and have accumulated about 15 cartridges. I always shy away from the multi-layered pictures and stick with the fonts for titles. When I saw how easy and adorable some of the paper pieces everyone was making last week I had to get in on it too! When I got home, I tried a couple and with a little patience I made the cutest Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet! (see the picture below!) Had I not gone I would never have attempted these! So worth it! This year Carol and her team did something different - a LIVE auction! This was so clever and fun! A whole bunch of old CM products - stickers, makers, paper etc - were auctioned off to the highest bidder. I scored numerous sheets of the old letter/number stickers in a ton of colors for only $25! Keep your eye out for the March event and put it in your calendar. You will be so happy you did!”
Thanks, Tricia! I am tentatively scheduling my next overnight weekend for first weekend in March at The Johnson & Wales Inn in Seekonk, MA. I am open to suggestions of any other places that might be worth it and please let me know! I hope to have this finalized by the holidays and can send out a message at that time.
In the meantime, keep checking back on my Blog, Facebook page and your emails for workshops and specials! I will post some border ideas as well from this past weekend soon!
Thanks for reading! - Carol

Challenge #1 – Create a Page Layout from a Magazine Ad!
Inspiration is all around you.
Visualize yourself walking through the grocery store. Look on the shelves. What jumps out? The colors of the macaroni and cheese box. The layout of the cereal box. The piles of produce, stacked layer upon layer.
Or how about the magazine rack in your living room? Pull out any magazine and look through the ads.
Ads (and cereal boxes) are created by designers, who typically have a good eye for balance, color, font and placement. A great source for layout inspiration can be found right on your coffee table or inside your cupboards!
For this challenge, interpret this ad as a scrapbook layout!

Fall Border Ideas!
It appears that fall has finally struck! I have to admit I do love these brisk mornings, but I am not looking forward to shoveling snow in what I am sure will come all too quickly! I hope everyone has been out enjoying all that our wonderful New England Autumns have to offer – apple picking, pumpkin patches, hayrides and getting ready for Halloween!
If you have taken lots of pictures doing these activities then I am sure you are looking for some great fall border ideas! Check out the photos sent to me by a fellow consultant. She has used the new pumpkin and rustic fence border maker cartridges in some very creative ways. If you haven’t invested in this system yet now is the time! It is a fantastic tool with so many options and Creative Memories is continuing to add more cartridges each month or so. Click here to go directly to the Border Maker Page on my shopping site! This would also be an excellent item to add to your holiday wish list!
My favorite border is this new sunflower chain! Can you believe the stem of the sunflower is the evergreen maker upside down, the tree tops are cut off? (Note: the evergreen maker is no longer available on the CM website but if you really want one let me know and I can see if there are any in stock in my unit) If you attend my upcoming overnight, I will have the entire Border Maker System with all the cartridges and you can try before you buy!
I look forward to reading feedback from you! And don’t forget to keep reading, commenting, and forwarding to friends! As I said in my earlier blog, I am going to Raffle off TWO $10 FREE Product Certificates! Here is how you can win:

Welcome!
Welcome to Carol's Cropping Community, your source for creative inspiration and online connection to my CM Community!
The world we live in is non-stop and crazed! We are all going a million miles an hour and there never seems to be enough time in the day for YOU! Many of us used to get together on a monthly basis to work on our albums. Some of you come to my overnight events twice yearly. And a few are former CM consultants with whom I had the wonderful opportunity to work with! I know how difficult it is to keep up with your projects and this is one of the many reasons I decided to create this blog! Many people have been asking me for quite some time now to jump on the bandwagon and get on Facebook! I send out email blast quite frequently (and it took me long enough to get that going!) and now it is time to change gears AGAIN! I have consulted with quite a few of you as well as folks in this social media industry and have come up with the best of all world solution – I am creating a BLOG! This will tie in with Facebook and should help me to stay connected to all of you and vice versa!
Every week I will be creating at least one new post. Some of these will be scrapbook ideas direct from Creative Memories. Some will be Challenges for you to create something using a new product (and prizes will be awarded!) Some of these will be "Virtual Workshops" where you can create new stuff in the comfort of your home at your leisure. I invite you to scroll through these for your own ideas. These posts are meant to keep you involved in the CM Community. You know those women you only see at the overnights, or how about the ones you only get together with monthly to scrapbook with and then when you do there is never enough time to pick their brains for all of their ideas! Right?! Well, now you can stay connected all year long! I invite you all to post on my FB Wall, tag me in photos of your recent projects or if you have a website or blog connected with scrapbooking send me a link and I will add it to my page! The beauty in all of this is that you can check out “What’s New!” in those brief snippets of time you have during the day when you are browsing the internet on your phone or tablet – just add me to your favorites!
This BLOG is being set up as a COMMUNITY for YOU my CUSTOMER! If there are things you would like to see let me know! If you have a friend who might enjoy this forward her the blog! I can’t wait to hear from you! And just to see who is paying attention, I am going to Raffle off TWO $10 FREE Product Certificates! Here is how you can win:
· LIKE me on Facebook and get an entry
· SUBSCRIBE to my Blog and get an entry
· REFER friends to both sites and get an entry (have friend send me a message with your name in order to qualify) - Each referral gets one entry!
I will pick a winner on November 14th – just in time to kick off my Black Friday Weekend Shopping Specials!
Stay tuned…;
